TRANSFORMATIVE PATHWAYS
The goals of the Transformative Pathways program are to place 75 justice systems-involved East Bay youth in jobs and reduce their recidivism rates. Urban Strategies Council received a California Community Reinvestment Grant from the California Governor’s Office for Business and Economic Development to support job readiness/leadership development training for youth impacted by California’s ‘War on Drugs.’
In addition to job readiness and leadership development training, participants receive mental health support and legal services to address barriers to job re-entry. Participants also participate in community service programming. The Council partners with Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) to coordinate the job training and placement components of the program.
