Charles Eddy

Program Coordinator – BASIC Initiative

Charlie Eddy has worked in direct service, supervisory, and administrative roles in public sector and nonprofit child welfare and juvenile justice agencies in Ohio, Massachusetts, and California. After working at the Hamilton County Juvenile Court in Cincinnati and for the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services, he moved to California. He worked for nonprofit social services agencies in San Diego, Los Angeles and Oakland. Also, he spent several years as a restorative justice policy advocate in Sacramento and Los Angeles. 

 

At Urban Strategies Council, he works to improve reentry services for individuals returning to the community from jail and prison. Charlie is an advocate for systems reforms to promote justice and corrections best practices. He provides support to the Justice Reinvestment Coalition of Alameda County. He helped organize and support BASIC, the Bay Area Systems Impacted Consortium, a network of campus-based programs for formerly incarcerated college students. Charlie earned a BA degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio and an MS degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
