Substance Use Disorder Outreach Specialist
Veronica King is a certified addiction specialist and, for the past 30+ years, has worked tirelessly to guide individuals who are struggling with the dual diagnosis of substance use disorder and mental illness toward healthy and sober living. In addition, Veronica works with policymakers, community-based organizations, and family coalitions to strengthen local and regional prevention and treatment programs. Veronica has led crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy, education, and homelessness prevention programs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Veronica has been recognized as a change agent and dedicated worker by Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Lee, the Late Ron Dellums, and leaders in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano counties.
Veronica spent 15 years as a Clinic Director in Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder. Currently, Veronica works as a Case Manager for the Superior Courts of California, County of Alameda, Office of Collaborative Courts, as well Substance Use Disorder Outreach Specialist for Urban Strategies Council. Veronica is committed and dedicated to helping those who are seeking to transition from a lifestyle of addiction, homelessness, and recidivism into productive members of society.
