FRANK ORTIZ
Frank is a first-generation Mexican American raised in the East Bay. Frank graduated from the University of California, Merced, with a B.A. in Political Science.
Through their undergraduate experiences, Frank built on-campus resources to address basic needs gaps for students from historically excluded communities. Following this, Frank pursued a PhD/MSPH to continue their work on increasing access to basic needs resources through research, program development, and tailored services for marginalized groups. As the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Frank had to depart from their graduate studies to help support their family.
Frank is excited to join the Research team at the Urban Strategies Council in evaluation resources dedicated to historically excluded individuals.
In their free time, Frank spends time hiking with their family/friends, reading, and gardening.
