Alameda County Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Campaign

The Council is participating in the Alameda County EITC Campaign. The Campaign sponsors 21 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites across Alameda County and supports asset development strategies linked to the EITC campaign. The Council is responsible for coordinating the Campaign's Steering Committee and the Asset Development Work Group. This involves meeting planning and facilitation; program development; strategic planning; and providing administrative and logistical support.

In addition, the Council is responsible for the data collection component of the campaign. Sites submit their tax return data to the Council so that figures such as the refund amount, EITC amount, etc., are extracted and sent to campaign members and the Annie E. Casey Foundation to be joined with the data from other sites around the country that participate in the national campaign. The VITA sites administer a survey to the clients and these data are also collected and analyzed by the Council.
