SECOND-HAND
SMOKE EXPOSURE

The “Oakland Second-hand Smoke Exposure Impact Assessment” (OSSEIA) is a participatory research project funded by the Alameda County's Public Health Department for Tobacco Control with the goal of increasing Oakland residents' knowledge of second-hand smoke exposure harms in multi-unit residences. The Council’s research is focused on surveying from West and North Oakland residents to help develop smoke-free policies citywide. The Council’s findings will help educate community organization peers on the harms of second-hand smoke exposure and public officials to inform policy changes.
