MEGAN IMPERIAL
Megan currently serves as Director of Programs and Policy at the Urban Strategies Council. She has over five years of experience executing and leading policy development and legislative strategies while creating strategic press support in public, private, and non-profit sectors. She successfully guides complex economic and budget analyses and has managed administrative policies with fiscal impacts. Megan is proficient in legislative processes and procedures at the local and state levels. She has advised government agencies on racial and gender equity programs and continues to aim all her work at forging a path for other young women of color.
Megan is an expert in racial equity-specific program design, pioneering organizational development, staff development, and workforce analysis. She understands historic and current systemic racism and its impacts on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
At the state level, Megan is the Chair of the California Young Democrats (CYD) Womxn's Caucus and a sitting member of the California Democratic Party (CDP) Women's Caucus. Locally, she sits on the East Bay Young Democrats (EBYD) as Controller.
Obtaining her bachelor's degree from the University of California Berkeley in Interdisciplinary Studies, Megan was recognized with the Highest Honors for her Thesis, specializing in race, language, culture, and identity.
