Alameda County Interagency Children's Policy Council
The Alameda County Children's Policy Council is the outgrowth of Council efforts at public systems reform going back to the early 1990s. The mission of ICPC is to improve outcomes for Alameda County's low-income and vulnerable children and families through cross-system collaboration in county-sponsored services.
ICPC works to:
- develop and sustain neighborhood-based family support networks that blend informal and flexible services;
- integrate services, improve outcomes and contain costs for families of high-end children who use services of multiple agencies;
- and utilize both front-end and high-end pilot projects to promote system-wide reforms.
The Council is a founding, voting member of ICPC. For the past year, ICPC has made after school programs and school-linked services one of its priority areas of work and Council staff serve on the work group created to further this work.
