| Reentry Mapping Network | The Council is one of eleven members nationwide of the Urban Institute's Reentry Mapping Network. The Network focuses on developing neighborhood level data related to incarceration and reentry, and using GIS technology to analyze and display the data regarding the demographics and significant locations of formerly incarcerated persons returning to the City of Oakland from the California Department of Corrections. |
| Casey Local Learning Partnership (LLP) | The Annie E. Casey Foundation selected Urban Strategies Council as the lead organization for the Local Learning Partnership for the Lower San Antonio Making Connections Initiative. The job of the Local Learning Partner is to support the work of the Making Connections Initiative in using data and research. As of January 2008, Urban Strategies is no longer associated with the Making Connections Oakland Initiative. We maintain our presence in the community and continue to work with our partners to achieve our common goals of revitalizing the San Antonio district and improving the outcomes for all residents in the neighborhood. |

Release of Oakland Alcohol Retailer Information January 31, 2006 |
At the request of Healthy Oakland, and in cooperation with the Alameda County Department of Public Health, Urban Strategies Council has obtained data on the types and locations of retail alcohol outlets in Oakland and produced a series of initial maps on alcohol outlets. | Family Economic Success Listening Campaign | A survey of residents of the Lower San Antonio to identify issues that are important to them and to identify residents interested in working on employment, economic and housing issues. |
| Neighborhood Knowledge California (NKCA) | NKCA serves as statewide, interactive website that assembles and maps a variety of databases that can be used in neighborhood research. The Urban Strategies Council through InfoOakland is the Northern California Partner for NKCA and is conducting launch events, training and other promotional activities for NKCA in the Bay Area. |
