About Urban Strategies Council



Community Capacity Building Building community capacity to create and sustain change that improves outcomes for children, families and residents of low-income neighborhoods.
Economic Opportunity Supporting the efforts to increase economic opportunity for low-income families through employment and income support, asset accumulation, economic development and capital investment in low-income neighborhoods.
Community Safety and Justice Improving public safety in low-income neighborhoods through programs addressing parolee reentry, violence prevention, and a reduction of the involvement of low-income residents in the criminal justice system. 
Education Excellence Improving academic and social outcomes of public education through increased parent and community involvement in decision making and using the school as a "village center" for community organizing efforts. 
Information and Technology Increasing access to public data and information through an online data warehouse and mapping service and building capacity among residents and CBOs to use public data and to collect and analyze their own data.
