Urban Institute Reentry Mapping Network
The Council is one of eleven members nationwide of the Urban Institute's Reentry Mapping Network. The Network focuses on developing neighborhood level data related to incarceration and reentry, and using GIS technology to analyze and display the data regarding the demographics and significant locations of formerly incarcerated persons returning to the City of Oakland from the California Department of Corrections. The data analysis and maps will help communities develop strategies and programs to address the problems that the returnees encounter and present during the reentry and reintegration process.
