Homicide data for 1995 to 2005 was received from the Oakland Police Department Homicide Division.

 

Homicide data for the twenty-year trend charts were taken from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report.

 

Oakland population figures were taken from the California Department of Finance’s Annual City and County Population and Housing Estimates.
