Updates

  • Karen gave an overview of her need to prepare the communications plan and asked for time on next month’s agenda to discuss communications related to this work group for the coming year.
  • MCO proposal guidelines brought up questions about who is supposed to utilize the document. Elena will follow up with Deb on these questions. Mara will resend the document.
  • Sonya will continue to work on integrating all of the work plans into one work plan.
  • Neighborhood grants RFP is coming out soon. They are finalizing the timeline now. ESAA can help with graphic design of the flyer. Translation will be in Spanish, Cambodian, Chinese.
  • ESAA is holding a sign-up for Malcolm X Jazz Festival. They also gave an update on housing in the Cultural Center and that they will have 4 of the 16 units be affordable: there are two studios for $400/month each and two 1-bedrooms for $424/month. They are also discussing having structured days fro groups to use the community space.
  • Newspaper: Mara will send the MOU that Danya sent earlier this year. The deadlines for the Unity are in the MOU.
  • Logo design: will wait until the May meeting to discuss.
  • JC representation: think about having revolving participation.
  • We’ll continue to have ESAA chair the meeting and do the agenda; USC will continue to be the administrative partner.
