23rd Avenue Plan

  • Rethinking goal language for plan

Work Plan

  • Resident engagement piece is not reflected in the work plan
  • Hiring staff
    • $35K - $40K
    • EBALDC doesn’t have to “hold” these positions
    • Americorps—on the street, provide extra staffing support for lower costs
    • Get Casey to agree to fund position for two years, then develop other funding sources. (Need to follow up with Fred)
    • Need a fund development plan
  • Where is YEP’s building in all this?
  • Shouldn’t YEP be long hanging fruit
  • Should YEP be anchor project
  • Do we need vision for commercial mix?
  • Define more specifically what it means to have a “district”

Merchant Organizing

  • Meet six times per year
  • Working with churches
  • Working with property owners
  • Staffing piece is critical. Need staffing support to develop a vision. Develop some deliverables for Merchants Association

ESAA

  • Looking at partnering with Northern California Land Trust
  • Still working with Art House
  • Need to do more research on site
  • Need to put together business plan
